Bending Steel Tubes for Race Cars
Albina bent several steel tubes for the car that won 2015 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Open Class Division.  The bent steel tubes are covered by the exterior shell of the car, but you can see an image of the car below. Curved Steel Provides Eye Catching Roof Structure for Religious Building
Albina Co., Inc. recently bent various pieces of tube steel to form an eye catching curved roof structure for a religious building in Lodi, California. The material consisted of tube steel 16" X 4" X .500" WALL A500 GR B bent the easy way to a tightest radius of 9’ 6 1/8” centerline radius and tube steel 14" X 4" X .375" WALL A500 GR B bent the easy way to a tightest radius of 12’ 0 ¼” centerline radius. Curved Steel Beams Provide Structural Support for Elevated Track
Track season is in full swing and did you know that our curved steel members are used to create many of the elevated tracks that reside in recreational facilities and fitness centers around the country? Albina Co., Inc. bent several pieces of large wide flange W33 x 169# that provided the curved structural supports for the elevated track frame for the Fitness Center at Eielson Airforce Base. Updated Pictures for Curved Steel Spheres in Seattle, WA.
The erection of the curved steel "Spheres" in Seattle, Washington is complete. Check out the completed pictures below. As a reminder, Albina’s scope of work included approximately 750,000# and 1.050 pieces of rectangular tube steel bent the easy way and a portion bent off-axis. The material was bent to tight tolerances and bent to AESS standards. The amount of welds and grinding was significant, but thanks to Albina’s ability to bend portions of the project, a significant amount of welding and grinding was avoided. Almost NO correction was needed during fabrication or erection as the bends fit to fixtures (fabrication) within 1/32nd of an inch! Check back for more pictures as the project progresses! Steel Plate Rolling
End uses for rolled steel plate are vast. Products made from rolled steel plate include cylinders, conical shapes, column wraps (stiffeners), bridge supports and industrial duct systems. Albina Co., Inc.'s plate rolling capabilities include 3/4" plate up to 10'0" in width (pre-bend up to 5/8" thick). Albina can also roll flat Bar the Easy Way to any thickness and size thru 4" x 22" where the section is dependent on thickness to width. For an in-depth explanation of the steel plate rolling process see our Bending Methods page. For more images and rolled steel product applications visit our Manufacturing and Industrial Parts page to see the various tanks we have produced as well as the full scope of parts we produce for various manufacturers.
Curved Aluminum Span Bridge at Riverview Park
Albina Co., Inc. recently bent 40 foot lengths of tube steel 8" x 8" x .500" wall for the Riverview Park Aluminum Span Bridge located in Washington state. The steel bending for the span bridge consisted of rolling the material to a 209 foot radius. All of the tube steel was rolled to AESS (Architecturally Exposed Structural Steel) specifications. After the steel bending was complete, Albina's customer fabricated the bridge into 2 sections at 140 feet per section. Albina produces architecturally designed pedestrian bridges and walk-ways erected at transportation stations, universities, museums, large businesses, state park, etc. [caption id="attachment_839" align="aligncenter" width="300"]Curved Steel Span Bridge Curved Steel Span Bridge[/caption] [caption id="attachment_840" align="aligncenter" width="300"]Curved Steel Span Bridge Bent Tube Steel 8" x 8" x .500" wall Aluminum[/caption] [caption id="attachment_841" align="aligncenter" width="300"]Curved Steel Span Bridge Curved Steel Aluminum Span Bridge[/caption]
Steel Spiral Staircase at University of Nebraska Business Administration Building
Albina rolled the following materials to create a beautiful multi-level steel spiral staircase at the University of Nebraska Business Administration Building. A spiral, circular or helical bend occurs in a plan view with rise in elevation. Steel spiral staircases are architecturally and visually appealing, functional and an effective use of space. 48 pieces Tube Steel 20" X 8" X .500" WALL A500 GR B 12 pieces Tube Steel 8" X 6" X .250" WALL A500 GR B 48 pieces Tube Steel 3½" X 2½" X .188" WALL A500 GR B 12 pieces Tube Steel 3½" X 1½" X .188" WALL A513 48 pieces Tube Steel 2½" X 2½" X .188" WALL A500 GR B 12 pieces Tube Steel 2½" X 1½" X .188" WALL A500 GR B 28 pieces Angle 3" X 3" X ¼" A36 [caption id="attachment_805" align="aligncenter" width="169"]Multi-Level Steel Spiral Staircase Multi-Level Steel Spiral Staircase[/caption]
