I wanted to share a story from a customer whom we recently completed a job for. The customer found us through the internet and was impressed with our web page layout because it showed that we do architectural work. He said working with the team at Albina was a “great experience.”
“This project was textbook from beginning to end. Once it arrived in Seattle it was installed within an hour. Albina’s timing was unbelievable. We have another job coming up where the bent pipes need to be perfect and clean and strong as it has coils going through and it can’t be crushed. Once the project is ready for release, Albina will be my first phone call.”
Most of the customers’ work is done in the DC area so he thought shipping might be a problem on the upcoming job. We have a lot of customers on the East Coast and we have the ability to combine shipments which helps to keep the costs down. Don’t let shipping be a deterrent.
The newly renovated Broadway Bridge opened a few weeks ago in Boise, Idaho. The General Contractor determined, at the end of the project, that the detailer had left off a couple of pieces. We rolled and galvanized the steel and sent the finished product over night to meet the bridge opening requirements. You can read more about the details of the bridge renovation here.
The following comments from our happy customers demonstrate the very reason that people should not make purchasing decisions based solely on price, especially when buying a product that requires precision and quality like curved steel.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Albina employees for their professionalism and expedited efforts that it took to perform their part in the bending and fabrication of the required tube assemblies. With the efforts of the Albina team, the fabricator was able to accomplish the expedited schedule that end customer required. We would like to mention that the customer was very happy with the work that Albina performed and commented that they have more projects they plan on sending our way. We look forward to working with you in the future.”
“The entire staff at Albina has been excellent to work with and up front and honest in the work that that was performed. I thank you and the Albina crew for setting the standard. I look forward to the next project that we get to send your way.”
Remember that there is a price and a cost associated with every job. The price of a competitor might be below ours, but when you add up all of the actual costs to receive and install the material, is there really a cost savings? If you chose the lowest price, you may deal with late delivery, poor quality or incorrect parts and a lack of or delayed communication. If you choose the lowest price, you will get what you pay for.

Albina recently created an “Industry Links” page on our new mobile-friendly website. Albina understands and values the relationships that we have in the steel bending industry and we wanted to highlight a few of the companies we deal with on a daily basis who help us provide our customers with the best products and services available. We highlight various steel industry associations such as AISC, NOMMA, PNSFA, Impact and others. We also give a brief description of many of our key Service Centers, Subcontractors, and Specialty Contractors. This page provides a great resource for individuals to learn about all the different aspects that go into the process of bending steel.
Albina has done it again! Another example of the quality in workmanship we provide and another satisfied customer!
“Albina is our preferred vendor for all things heavy requiring rolling and or forming. Rest assured, I have nothing but admiration for Albina’s ability and workmanship, QC, QA, and logistics. I have also developed a great relationship and trust your team. I look very forward to working with you again. As far as we are concerned, you have not competition!”
When it comes to choosing which vendor you are going to use for a job, are you just buying on price? Please don’t. There is a price, and an ultimate end cost for every job you do.
Price vs. Cost
Risk vs. Reward
It might seem like a risk to purchase from a supplier that isn’t the “lowest price.”
The rewards are greater than the risk. Albina will provide you with a “fair price” and we will provide you with a better quality product. We will provide you the correct parts the first time. We will provide on-time delivery.
Our trained, experienced staff will provide unmatched service and communication related to every aspect of your project.
Albina Co, Inc. has set customer satisfaction as our number one goal when servicing the steel bending industry. Customers must be satisfied with our communication, customer service, adherence to our schedule, fair pricing and quality product. This list of measurables all being top priorities might seem to be overwhelming, but to Albina it is standard operating procedure. Since our inception in 1939, our customers have always come first, our customers are part of our team, our customers are like family. One satisfied customer from the rocky mountain region recently emailed me the following message:
“Brian – We just received the parts yesterday and want to say thank you. Aaron, Mark, Mike and many of your other staff have done an excellent job of taking care of us over the years. They are prompt, friendly and most important professionals who turn out a GREAT product!!! We look forward to doing many more projects over the years.”
It is always refreshing getting this feedback because it helps affirm that our philosophy is not just words, but reality. To fully understand everything Albina can do for you on your next project specifying bent or curved steel, you need to give us a chance to prove to you what we are capable of doing. Send us your next order, you will not be disappointed.
Albina rolled / bent a 60′ Length of HSS 16 X 4 X .500 A500 Gr. B tubular steel this morning. It was not the most challenging job on the whole, but we had no margin of error. A mill ordered 60′ length of material that was not easily replaceable and would have caused significant schedule delays for our customer if it didn’t work out. Rolled / Bent to a 12′ Radius the Easy Way with virtually zero distortion. Planning and teamwork at all levels resulted in another example of the best available result.
