REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate must have extensive knowledge of the steel industry.  With a minimum of 5 years’ experience purchasing and shipping in the steel industry.  Candidate must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects at any given time.  Must be well connected in the steel industry and have a strong reputation for customer service.  High-level computer and math (geometry) skills required. 

DUTIES:

Read & interpret shop drawings and shop data to determine how items are going to ship.  Candidate is responsible for shipping and purchasing decisions (with direction from project managers).  Work with a team of estimators, project managers, production managers and yard managers to successfully perform duties.

NOW HIRING: ESTIMATOR/PROJECT MANAGER

Candidate must have extensive steel fabrication and estimating (bidding) experience (a minimum 5 years’ experience). It would be ideal if the candidate has actual shop fabrication or bending experience as well. Candidate must be well connected in the bending and fabrication industry and have a strong reputation for customer service. High-level ability to use Geometry, Trigonometry, AutoCAD and computer based Excel spreadsheets.

Duties include: Read & interpret shop drawings to come up with bending and fabrication estimates. This candidate is responsible for all levels of the bid process as well as post-bid project management. Work with a team of estimators and project managers to initiate improvements in our current bid process and develop new standards / rules for estimating bending and fabrication.

Compensation DOE.

Inc., one of the nations leading suppliers of custom bent metal, is currently seeking an energetic, highly motivated and experienced professional to lead and oversee our maintenance program. We have been in business for 70+ years. Candidates with direct maintenance experience in like or similar industries are strongly encouraged to apply. Job Description This position installs, maintains and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe and electrical systems in our manufacturing facility. Perform preventative maintenance activities assigned for automated or manual machines and equipment per specifications. Familiar with hydraulics and electronics. Follow blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings. Change or install electrical motors and wiring ranging from ½ hp to 300 hp. Must be familiar with a broad range of hand tools, hoist cranes, measuring and test equipment. Can differentiate unusual sounds in machinery to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation changes with supervisors to diagnose problems or repair machinery. Routinely, use lockout/tag out procedures, dismantle machines and equipment to install new or repaired parts. Provide maintenance upkeep such as cleaning and lubrication of shafts, bearings, gears, etc. Installs and repairs electrical units, operates machinery and fabrication tools such as drill press, welders, plasma torch & grinders to fabricate jigs and fixtures or to repair machinery parts. Create machine specific maintenance documentation, troubleshooting flow diagrams, technical training guides, maintenance checklists, project completion check list, and repair completion checklist. We are currently seeking a Production Manager to lead us into the next stage of growth.
Scope of Responsibility: (Summary of Job Duties)
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of all production workers. Assist COO with developing, updating and implementing efficient and safe operating procedures for all production activities. Ensures procedures for production, shipping, receiving, housekeeping and storing of materials are being followed. Supervise a crew of workers and various job functions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Must be experienced working with computers. Have the ability to learn, navigate and use designated software programs as required to perform job functions. Must be able to work effectively in a multi-tasking work environment and prioritize workload. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and have the ability to interact positively with others. Must have the ability to effectively supervise others.
Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Management, Operations, Business Administration, engineering or other related field; three to five years Production Management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Metal Shop or Fabrication experience helpful but not required.
Working Conditions:
Work is normally performed in a production setting. During cold weather temperature can drop to freezing. May require sitting or standing for long periods of time, ability to walk on uneven surfaces & up stairs, use of hands for grasping, gripping, writing and typing.

Basic Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maximize Production Efficiency
  • Perform Supervisory responsiblities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Assign duties and responsibilities to show workers and review work for accuracey, neatness, timeliness and conformance to policy and proceedures.
  • Work with COO to develop, implement and maintain some shop performance measures, backlog and scheduling problems, as well as OT are daily issues.
  • Manage all workflow throughout the shop and ensure that all jobs are progressing as efficiently as possible. Identify problems before they occur and implement solution to avoid wasted time and money.
  • Manage all shop floor paperwork.
  • Communicate with QA Manager to report quality problems, status updates, task completion, etc.
  • Lock/Unlock the Shop and Arm/Disarm Alarm as Required
  • Responsible for overall Organization, Cleanliness and work cell structure in the shop.
