Albina Co., Inc. bent 36 pieces of 6 5/8″ OD X .375″ wall round steel tubing and 384 pieces of 6″ SCH80 6061-T6 ALUM to create the unique shape for the Peterson Auto Museum in Los Angeles, CA. Albina cut, bent and trimmed all pieces per the provided drawings. While most of the bent material was covered with the “skin” of the building, the bent steel parts are what gave the museum its’ unique shape and appearance. Every part was slightly different and needed to be processed to very tight tolerances. Photos courtesy of Zahner.
Albina recently bent Tube Steel 5″ X 3″ X .375″ WALL A500 GR B and Tube Steel 6″ X 4″ X .375″ WALL A500 GR B, all bent the easy way, to create the new lighted marquee at the Moda Center. The Moda Center is the home of the NBA’s Portland Trailblazers. The bent tube steel was used to create the following letters: O, A, E (2), C, D. In addition to the marquee outside, we also bent to the tube steel that provides the base to the jumbotron scoreboard that hangs above center court.
