We recently spiral rolled 1/2″ and 1″ plate for a custom spiral staircase in a multi-million dollar luxury home on Green Street in San Francisco, California.
We provided the rolled plate for the staircase and then flat plane rolled the plate for the landings. The tightest radius was a 29.75” center line radius.
Albina recently used our induction heating process to spiral bend Tube Steel 16″ X 16″ X .625″ WALL A500 GR B bent down to a an 18 foot radius for the new American Airlines headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas. The 1.7 million-square-foot complex, dubbed the “Trinity complex,” consists of constructing four seven-story buildings. It will cost at least $300 million to build and will house over 6,500 employees. There are 10 tower cranes on the project and there will be more than 1,000 construction workers on-site during the peak. It is scheduled to open during the second half of 2019. Including the 16″ square, we have produced another set of spirals and have one in the queue. The one in the queue is Tube Steel 14″ x 6″ x .625″ wall REALLY tight, exposed and bent to a 5′-6″ radius on a 45° pitch. We already made a mock up for the job and all parties loved it. These are the type of bends that ONLY Albina can do! This is a really amazing project! Stay tuned for more pictures.
Suffolk County Community College (SCCC), recently opened its new $30 million, 75,000 square foot Learning Resource Center (LRC) and library on the Michael J. Grant Campus in Brentwood, Long Island, New York. Albina Co., Inc. bent the steel spiral stringers for the project. The steel spiral stringers consisted of spiral bent tube steel 20″ X 4″ X .500″ WALL A500 GR B the easy way to a 14 ft. plan view radius. We also bent the landings to a similar radius. We also spiral bent tube steel 14″ X 10″ X .500″ WALL A500 GR B the easy way to a 19 ft. plan view radius and the landings also to a similar radius.
On a recent trip to Washington DC, we had the pleasure of touring the Capitol Building and we were able to capture some pictures of The Capital Visitors Center spiral staircase we bent years ago. The project consisted of flat and spiral bending of angle, channel, flat bar, solid square, wide flange (up to W18 x 76#) and square tubing (up to 10″ x 10″ x .500″ wall spiral bent).

Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center is the only nonprofit hospital in Fountain Valley, CA. Albina recently spiral bent and flat bent Tube Steel 16″ X 8″ X .500″ WALL A500 GR B to 13’ 6” and 18’ 10” plan view radii the easy way to form the spiral stringers for the staircase. See the installation pictures below. Finished install pictures coming soon!
Enjoy the latest install pictures of the 20” x 8” x .625” wall tube steel which provides the base supports for a heavy weight bearing spiral staircase at the Lakeside Campus in Richardson, Texas. The tube steel was spiral bent the easy way using our induction heat source and increment bend method. The tube steel was bent down to a 7’ 7” center line (plan view) radius and all bends were to AESS standards. Albina also bent tube steel 20” x 12” x .625” wall for a different section of the spiral staircase. The 20″ x 12″ material was bent down to a 13’ 9” center line (plan view) radius and all bends were to AESS standards. The specifications to bend to a center line radius this tight is almost unheard of, but Albina was able to do it to perfection!

Albina Co., Inc. recently completed various lengths of curved rectangular tube steel for the curved portion of the face of the new Harley Davidson building in Scottsdale, Arizona. We also bent various internal structural steel elements for the interior of the building as well as a spiral staircase.
Albina Co., Inc. recently rolled steel plate to create the spiral stair stringers for a beautiful custom curved steel staircase in California. The plate sections consisted of 1/2″ x 14″ A36 plate rolled counter clockwise to a 38′ 8″ radius and 43′ 9″ radius. For portions of the landing area, 1″ X 14″ A36 plate was rolled anywhere from a 37′ 7″ radius to a 42′ 6″ radius. Various other structural steel members were bent including 4″ X 4″ X ¼” ANGLE A36 rolled legout to a 37′ 6″ radius.
Albina Co., Inc. recently spiral bent a piece of tube steel 10″ X 6″ X .375″ WALL A500 GR B. This is a very tight spiral bend with a lot of twist….almost NO distortion. With the assistance of an induction heat source, Albina was able to spiral bend the tube steel the Easy way to a 65” center line plan view radius.
