STEEL BENDING PROFILES: TEE


Albina not only has the ability to bend Tee, but we also have the ability to split beam into tee sections. When using Albina to bend tee you do not have to find a secondary vendor to split the beam into tee prior to bending. You can issue one PO and Albina will split and bend for you.


Tee is made from taking a standard length of wide flange material and cutting the web to result in 2 lengths of tee material.


Albina has the ability to bend tee sections from the very small sizes and up to 12” stems (coming from 24” wide flange). We can bend the material with the tee stem in, stem out and stem down. The maximum tee weight that we can bend would depend on the wide flange origin. Different weights of wide flange will result in different flange sizes and thicknesses affecting our upper capacity.


The most common bending method for bending tee material is a roll bend or pyramid bends method. Straight material is inserted into the rolls; the rolls are then moved horizontally to put the desired radius into the material. Rolling of tee material is actually very similar to rolling angle.


Just like wide flange carbon tee is classified as ASTM A992 resulting in a yield point (psi) of 50,000 minimum.


We bend all stock lengths as well as non-stock lengths. Just like wide flange, stock lengths come in 20 feet and then every 5 foot increment up to approximately 60 feet long.


Bent tee can be used for many different applications. The most common application would be as tunnel supports (shoring) or roof trusses used in steel construction.


Beam Splitting:

We can split any size wide flange into "T" and straighten, in our profile roll bending equipment, to mill tolerances.
